High School Student "Shadow" Program

mentor graphic

Job Shadowing is usually a single event that provides high school students an opportunity to learn as much as possible about an employee working in a field in which the student has expressed interest. By Shadowing with a Laboratory host, the student will get a firsthand perspective of what adults do in the world of work.

The Shadowing experiences will be focused in the areas of science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. All Shadowing experiences will be directly related to the student's current course of study in school (i.e., science class, career awareness, consumer economics class, etc.) and align with the school district's guidelines for Shadowing.

PNNL staff members who need assistance with requests for a Shadowing experience—or for a student to schedule a Shadowing experience at PNNL, please contact .

Shadowing is a voluntary activity by the PNNL host staff member.
